Trade Downstream

I generally start my day by the lake or the river watching  the sunrise and these days eagerly checking the progress of the melting ice. The birds are singing and  I can smell spring.

The lake is melting in many places but that doesn’t stop the   ice fishermen from advancing fearlessly with their sleds.   Giant puddles are forming   around the ice shanties.

The river, however,  is completely open and flowing. This morning a silver fox stood on the opposite shore and watched me for awhile. By the time I had the binoculars focused it was gone.

Nature teaches us to how live simply,  to be naturally  who we are  just enjoying life . In learning to trust our own direct experience of this  life grows sweet  as we let go of the struggle to make things happen.

Take the ducks, for example. The mothers already have new babies and together they  float downstream allowing the current to carry them. They don’t  struggle against the stream.  Even when they cross the river they  walk upstream on the shore  and then  float downstream  again.

How we approach life is how we approach trading. Trading, like life, works so much better when we flow with the current. When we are just ourselves and doing what is natural to our nature.  I call that downstream trading.

Just as it takes time to find our true nature after of a lifetime of swimming against our personal current,  it  takes time to find our unique  trading style but it is worth it. It makes all the difference and then trading, like life,  feels sweet, like flowing down river.
